In this post, I will show you how to merge AVHDX to VHDX. You perform this exercise when you have enabled automatic checkpoint on VM setting. If you want to save space and remove checkpoint you end up disabling automatic checkpoint and AVHDX file is not merged with parent disk which is VHDX.

This process will complete that and you will have a single VHDX file without checkpoint.
